GRIEF SUPPORT
Hope in the Heartache
Grief Support Groups
King’s Table hosts peer-to-peer Grief Support Groups for parents or guardians and their children who are grieving the loss of a loved one who was impacted by a cognitive disability. We are committed to walking alongside families who are facing the experience of losing a loved one due to their disability.
Faith-based Support
Using the Morning Star Curriculum, a faith-based grief curriculum from Starlight Ministries, we guide parents, siblings, and caregivers through the grief journey. Groups are offered for parents and guardians and their children ages 4-18. Siblings are placed in groups according to their ages.
Our facilitators, who are trained volunteers and staff of King’s Table, guide participants through the curriculum. Participants may learn new coping methods, process their feelings, grow in their faith, and heal through their grief journey.
Hope in the Heartache is free of charge for participants due to the generosity of our donors.
